What are the advantages of rigid core vinyl planks?
Generally rigid core planks are composed of solid PVC. They are more resistant to denting and the rigid core makes them better to hide minor subfloor imperfections that would normally show through a regular vinyl plank. Ideal for areas in both commercial and residential applications and provide a waterproof floor. They are more dimensionally stable with less expansion and contraction issues from direct sunlight and changes in humidity or temperature changes. Many require less if any transitions for expansion or contraction traditionally found in doorways. They generally are slightly more expensive but the savings on some sub-straight preparation is a plus.
